Our focus is to provide strategies that specifically support communities of color. This includes collaborating with frontline and fenceline communities of color through the Network, with a focus on implementing equity in more effective ways.
James Charlton
Combined and coordinated forces to build community power. Allegiance and sustained involvement even when faced with enduring, challenging work and met with risk of losing access or other forms of superficial power It is an uncompromising commitment to your partners, not policy wins, media, or funding opportunities.
Support is not a handout, it is action toward equity, an action to level the playing field and it is conceding power and privilege. With the intent of providing support to frontline groups to find remedy to the oppression inflicted upon them.
It comes in many forms: collective mutual aid, compensation, in-kind contribution, as well as the collective effort to share information, skills and tools so that communities build on the power they have to take action toward self-determination.
In the effort to create systemic change identified by frontline communities to environmental racism. Not as a short-term policy win or incremental differences but long term, deep systems change.
